Gas Heaters

Rekord’s range of Modulating Gas Heaters has 8 models with max. outputs from 220,000 BTUs to 1,500,000 BTUs per hour. The 6 models up to 900,000 BTUs are based upon the very reliable and efficient commercial heaters from Thermobile and modified by Rekord to provide steplessly variable heat output controlled automatically by the most accurate and reliable humidity and temperature sensors available.

The Heaters are mounted in a purpose built adjustable frame with Transport Wheels The Control Panels, also mounted on the frame, are manufactured from Solid State Electronics with Digital Display in a robust casing The panel controls the rotary valve to give infinitely variable heat, (no stages) this gives instantaneous and accurate monitoring of relative humidity or temperature so that the air heater will immediately respond to the changes of ambient conditions Heater output is then kept to a minimum reducing gas consumption.

The unit is simple to use, purpose built in modular construction. The heater unit can be used for other purposes e.g. space heating of workshop or greenhouses etc.

The larger output heaters are both designed and manufactured by Rekord. They maintain high efficiency as they modulate across a remarkable range of heat output. Controlled either by the temperature or humidity required they are particularly suitable for large stirred grain systems and other crop drying. Where outputs greater than 1,500,000 BTUs are required double and triple piggy-back units are supplied.

HOW THEY WORK FOR GRAIN DRYING

Ambient air is mixed with heated air to produce accurately controlled constant humidity in the main tunnel regardless of ambient relative humidity Simply by dialing in the relative humidity required and leaving the controller to do the work, the unit will remove up to 1/2% moisture in 24 hours with an air flow of 100 cu ft per min per tonne or 15 ft air per minute through the grain.

OPERATING PROCEDURE

For the most economical and safe drying of non stirred grain, level out grain on top of store, obtain minimum air flow of 15 cu ft per mm through the grain .Use grain Fan without heat 24 hours per day until the wettest grain is 18% m c or less. Set the Rekord automatic controller to a relative humidity that will dry 2% lower than the actual grain moisture content. Check grain moisture daily and reduce RH setting accordingly to 2% lower than the actual until it equates to the required moisture level.
